Not everyone feels their life has to have a purpose, or they need a legacy. And not every life does, really. In fact, it would be impossible for everyone's life to have meaning. 10/18/2007 4:07:25 PM

Depends on your definitions here. To me, there is a difference between the words "purpose" and "meaning". Purpose defines your role in a certain action and it's outcome. Meaning defines if you give a darn about that role or outcome. Also, "meaning" is very subjective.
There's a purpose for everything. There's a purpose for that last oxygen particle you just consumed, there's a purpose for the ray of light that came out your computer screen. It has a purpose. Everything has purpose and a role to play in this physical world.
To me, it might not mean much if the Red Sox win tonight. But, to someone else it might mean a lot. There is still a purpose for their win. Whether it's to go to the World Series or make a big name for themselves.

For people like moron, their life doesn't mean much nor do they care. Either way, they still have a purpose and play an active role that produces some result. 10/18/2007 4:42:30 PM

^which is why you explode thermonuclear devices in the core??
Yeah, I dunno. It's what I've decided to work towards tho. Even if it can't happen on mars, cold-bearing, mass oxygen producing plants could have good applications on Earth.

^^^ Yeah, it would be awesome if you could pull it off.
I recently read that something akin to Cloud City would be possible high in the atmosphere of Venus. The makeup of the atmosphere makes Earth air a lifting gas even though pressure would be similar. To do an EVA you would just have to put on an oxygen mask. 10/18/2007 5:07:03 PM
