My trial is about to run out on my laptop with Windows Vista, and I have lots of papers and stuff to write here soon.

Before you say it: It is NOT illegal. When you have it, it is legal to use on up to 3 computers. Someone gave me a copy of their Office 2003 when I had a new desktop with XP with no problems.

the only way i could do this is if you dropped off your laptop at my place

the next easiest way is meeting u on campus and then getting your laptop and that means i'd have to carry it in my bookbag and then take it home, THEN bring it back to campus...thats too much time and effort

maybe for 3 computers but all have licenses being limited to one user. Adobe does the same thing.

When I put the CD in of the last copy I was given, I don't think the person even had to give me the product key. And when it ran, it was in my name, not theirs.

^^ Lucky1 and I could come over one evening and bring my comp with us... I don't have a cable though.

I don't know how to find product keys or anything, I have no idea how to do something like that. Putting in a CD and running it would work for me. I would rather just do it the way I did it last time. Of course my laptop has USB holes!

how did you do it last time? it sounds like you never had a key to begin with but yet somehow it was working...or did you not enter a key at any point and thats why its a trial?

No, the trial on my computer expired. So, someone burned me a copy of their Office, I put it in my computer, ran it, it never asked for the product key (that I remember), so I wrote down they key somewhere and kept the CD in case I ever had to do a syatem restore or got a virus, etc.

its not hard to google serials if you know what sites to use...lots of them dont work but for ever about 7 or 8 that dont 1 does...or i could install it for u if lucky1 dropped it off for me, or there is a 5 dollar route you could take and lucky1 would just have to pick up something

No, the key was for Office 2003, I need Office 2007. I could have him bring it to you if it would be free. I am completely broke right now. Had to pay out of my pocket for having my wisdom teeth taken out, plus all my normal bills.

yeah i understand...i'm not trying to be a jew...its just that my desktop fucked up tonight...so to burn it i'd have to hook up my internal dvd burner to my external enclosure...plus the file is on another harddrive so i'd have to hook up some shit just to get it

Not a problem, I can get my laptop to you. Maybe one day this weekend. I might can come with him and just wait for it and hang out for a little while. Then I can finally actually meet you. I don't think I'll be able to drive anyway, so this will be Lucky1's weekend job for me!

you are allowed to install office on your OWN computers
you may only use it on one computer at a time, however

this was intended for people that have a desktop and a laptop they commute to work with

believe me, i do microsoft licensing all the time - VL/SA gets complicated as shit, but this is pretty clear cut.

^yeah, I didn't feel like dealing with any bullshit workarounds, especially when it comes to microsoft. My office 2003 went corrupt so I just went ahead and decided to buy 2007. $60 is a lot, but mucho cheaper than if you went out and bought it at a store. You get a download and a product key to activate it, but sometimes you have to wait a few days for them to verify your school email address.

That's funny, because when I called Microsoft about it, they said it was fine. It could be installed on 3 computers, regardless. I told them it was a friend's copy and everything. They said it was fine.
