Transferring colleges within the university**
So, once you have all of the requirements, do you just bring the sheet to the office? I finally took PRT 152 this semester, and only have major classes left. Will they switch me if it is in progress so I can sign up for PRT only classes next semester? I am completely done with everything else, good GPA and everything and my current advisor is absolutely zero help. (Yes, I am actually going into the field, its not just cause its the easy major.)

Each college and in some cases departments have their own transfer requirements. Make an appointment to speak with the curriculum coordinator or the head of undergraduate education for the college and/or department you wish to transfer into. They should be able to tell you what hoops you need to jump through for the transfer to happen. 10/21/2007 4:32:00 PM |

its usually best to get this type of information from TWW.
just follow our instructions, and then on the last day before the deadline, take it all to the Dean's secretary. 10/21/2007 7:49:43 PM |

cause decent information has never come from Study Hall before. I can't really go talk to anyone on a Sunday night anyway. And seeing that its only midsemester, I'm not exactly waiting till the last second. Go back to chit chat if you want to flame. 10/21/2007 9:56:28 PM |

Sorry some ppl are being dicks on TWW right now.
I am a graduate student adviser in OASIS and am here to let you know that all you should need to do is pick up a change of major form from the Reg and Rec office in Harris Hall, have the current adviser/academic dept. release you with their signatures and get the signatures from the new dept you are going into and then have that sent to the Reg and Rec office for processing. Of course, this is assuming you have a 2.5 GPA (which I am sure you do with a "good GPA."
Since this is a peak time with advising and spring course registration, you may want to go ahead and get your PIN from your old adviser and meet with your new one so you all are on the same page

^I just did, and she shot me down hardcore.
She wont even look at my application until after grades are in this semester for PRT 152, and wont let me in until mid January. She said "It wont be a big deal unless you are already done with your GE" when I told her I was she just sorta shrugged.
Talk about ruining my day. I have to waste another semester now. 10/22/2007 12:46:38 PM |

yeah i saw you standing outside biltmore talking on your phone i think around 11am or so...to be honest i didnt get in until after i took 152 also, so i wouldnt say she shot you down...i took it in the summer
that spring i talked to her about transfering in and how i wanted to take 152 in the summer....she was like take that and that she'd "take a chance on me"(i think she said that cause i was dressed up really nice to go to work)...i told her how i had been at ncsu for 2 full years and needed to graduate with SOMETHING(since i couldnt get into business with my low engineering grades)...trust me, you will get in...just do well in 152 and show her how you did good...also, did you ask her about taking any other prt classes in the spring? some of them are restricted to prt majors so you should be like "yo i cant get into these, what should i do, i think i'm doing pretty well in 152"...something to that effect...ask her if and when you can take 150...depending on her answer then ask her if/when u can take 220 with kline
whats your concentration in prt(or at least what were u hoping to do?)
whats a GE...general education or something?
it sounds like if she said she'd let you in in january, u just gotta do decent in 152 and then she will let you sign up for the other courses] 10/22/2007 12:54:44 PM |
