I need some help here guys. Two weeks or so ago my computer started running slower and I think I could possibly have a virus. I don't think it is b/c of too much memory on my computer b/c I have 2 100 GB harddrives and one I don't use and the other is only half full. I ran a full system scan with norton and the only thing that shows up is a tracking cookie that I need to delete. I know norton isn't that great so I was wondering if yall could help me. Is there something I can download for free that could show me if I do have a virus or something else? Someone told me I could just save everything on a cd and reformat my computer but I have absolutely no clue how to do that. Any help would be appreciated here. 10/24/2007 11:50:01 PM |

You can google how to reformat your hard drive and the university offers Symantic Antivirus for free. 10/25/2007 9:50:54 AM |

Also download & run ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/); it's worked the best of any of the anti-spyware programs I've tried. 10/25/2007 10:30:09 AM |

If I reformat my computer will that make it like brand new or is it that the damage that is done is for good. I'm just making sure that if I reformat it that my computer will be good and not still damaged by the damage done to it now. 10/25/2007 5:20:45 PM |

If it's a virus, then you'll be fine after a reformat. 10/25/2007 5:36:15 PM |
