when you pass a cop hidden on the side of the road to let the oncoming traffic know?

Someone did it to me for the first time in like two years. JW if people still do this.

I flash my lights to alert for cops, and to let people know that are trying to merge infront of me that they have enough room to do so/I'm aware of their attempt to merge.

I would say that it's dangerous when done irresponsibly, as is occasionally the case

but the overwhelming majority of speeding is done responsibly, and is therefore generally not dangerous.

of course, he probably wasn't just talking about speeding in general

but specifically, excessive speeding

in which case

it can, in fact, be said, that a substantial number of excessive speeders don't do it responsibly

(cutting people off, not signaling, not "sharing the road", weaving, passing on the shoulder, etc.)

and I would agree that that is dangerous

but there's no need to suggest that speeders in general are necessarily doing anything dangerous

if you are on a road where flashing a light at you is necessary, then obviously it is dark, one lane in each direction and probably no median- therefore speeding is not 'safe'

going 5-10 over on the interstate is different. Not on twisty roads at night where if you cross the median you hit another car
