So I downloaded Avidemux and have attempted to install it on my macbook. When opening the program (after I install it) it opens for a second, shows up in my toolbar, and then closes. The problem is apparently not just mine, but in reading how to address it, I'm completely lost.... All I want is to be able to basically cut & paste my own videos (that I actually recorded, not that I downloaded). I freely admit that when dealing with mac, I'm lost...

^ you may have to export/render a given clip and play it in an external player to hear audio - just a thought - im a pc user. what else occurs to me is maybe you have to 'turn on' sound preview in iMovie.
again, just a guess.

is the volume muted on your computer?

I've done everything I can think of and still no. I thought maybe it was just on playback but when I exported it, the sound wasn't there either

when you are importing the clips in teh first place, is the audio stream included (meaning, do you see the wave form under/over your video frames?

maybe your audio stream is muted in the program, so that when you export it, it is silent?
what format clips are you using? maybe iMovie needs specific format's to be sound compatible?

OK, well a quick google search led me to the mac forum where a person asked the exact question that I did.....and someone answered it but this can't POSSIBLY STILL BE THE WAY THIS SHIT WORKS??!??!?!??!
