Reposting here since this board has a higher probability of getting good candidates

Need someone to to work as a Web Content Person/PR Materials Person

Duties Include: (depending on experience) transferring existing content over to redesigned pages; designing/redoing small sites; creating dept. newsletters, pamphlets, and posters; coding small scripts and webapps; etc.

Required Knowledge: HTML and/or XHTML; CSS; Dreamweaver/HTML Editors (if you can do it by code then don't worry about that); basic programming skills (enough to pick up the fundamentals of PHP somewhat quickly); a high English proficiency; previous experience creating PR materials is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, XML, Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Office would be definite pluses

it'd be about 15-20hrs a week, $10/hr

yeah, $10 for that job is bullshit.

Honestly, that's EXACTLY what I do at my internship right now and I'm makin a lot more than $10 an hour and really wouldnt do it for any less. This job is crazy.

Yeah... $10 an hour for that kind of required skills would be hard pressed. Even if you try to say location is key, it's not. You're best bet would be to hire some freshman who doesn't know better, but you get what you pay for.

The idea isn't that we're expecting someone to come in with the full skillset and years experience, we're looking for student workers who are relatively proficient in the above skills who, in working with BigMan157 and myself, will develop whatever skills they're lacking.

Location is key since most of our current student workers leave class, take a 30 second walk upstairs and are able to come to work right after class, as opposed to taking 10 minutes to walk to a parking deck, and X minutes to commute. It's especially convenient for students who don't have cars on campus.
