The Black Friday sales pages list the 46" Sharp Aquos LCD tv at $999. It's model number is LC-46D43U. Here's a link to the tv:

I know this is a pretty good deal, but what do you think? Anyone have an Aquos now? Hear anything about them? 11/6/2007 12:33:19 PM

i'm not incredibly worried about it being 720p, since it's only $999 and right now i've got a 27" regular tv. I really just want to know if this tv is going to be a flop? or if it is a good start, since I'm not trying to by the 60" 1080p and all, but if anyone knows were that tv is $999, let me know. 11/6/2007 1:03:07 PM

old model, the new ones are a bit better.
around that price they have slightly more expensive 46" samsung plasma which i would recommend over that.
[Edited on November 6, 2007 at 1:03 PM. Reason : but yes, it's a decent tv for the price.] 11/6/2007 1:03:24 PM

for $1000 its a steal.
we have the 37" Aquos. A good dang TV.
[Edited on November 6, 2007 at 1:38 PM. Reason : wait, is it 1080P?? that contrast ratio looks a little low. our TV was better] 11/6/2007 1:37:32 PM

if it is only 720p then you should pass....
You can go to wal mart right now and Buy a Panasonic 42" plasma with 1080p capability for $1400 open box action.... Spend a little extra and get a lot more-imo
Get a demo of 2 televisions at the same time- one in 720p and the other in 1080p and post back the results of your study ![](images/wink.gif) 11/6/2007 1:51:38 PM

my brother has an lcd, and i like that, so i don't know which is better, plasma or lcd, anyone?
Obviously i know about the 720p vs. 1080p, so anybody got a preference of plasma vs. LCD?
I've heard that LCD's are better for video games and plasmas get screen burn, but i also don't know if this is an old problem that has been resolved. 11/6/2007 2:24:20 PM
