Then you'll have to explain more about what's NOT working ... because that thread there covers about EVERY issue you could have with running FFVII in WinXP.

Your question to us is basically like me asking you why my Nuke Reactor isn't working. You might want more information before answering, no?

xp probably isn't the problem, all I needed was the patch to run ff7 on my win xp computer.

I couldn't get it to work last year.

Fucked with it for a week and finally gave up

Symptom is upon execution, screen goes to black. Instead of the EIDOS movie coming up, the screen stays black and does nothing.

After much trial and error, I installed DirectX 5.1 during the install, and now it works. Odd, considering higher versions supposedly have legacy support for all previous version features.
