^^^ It's better when you're not being made to read it by an under-qualified pretentious high school English teacher. Most critics consider it to be one of the best American novels ever written and one of the crowning jewels of 20th century literature.

It's a much better book, when you read it in your early twenties, rather than when you are forced to read it in the 8th grade. 11/12/2007 11:00:51 AM

i'm a catholic and i don't consider the bible to be something i should categorize with other books. I consider it a religious icon that contains stories related to my beliefs. The bible, and leisurely entertainment reading are in totally different categories. People who put the bible as one of their favorite books are either:
a.) goody goodies trying to show off how religious they are
b.) sluts who try to incorporate religion into their lives to atone for their sins 11/12/2007 11:09:18 AM

I'd bet a bunch of money that only a small fraction of the people who listed Pride & Prejudice have bothered to read it. Gatsby should be #1 on that short list, anyhow. 11/12/2007 10:02:32 PM

I have, it's actually pretty interesting when you actually WANT to read it, and not when you have to read it for confirmation in middle school. This past summer when I was working at church camp I learned a great deal that I never knew was in the bible, pretty neat stuff going on in it. 11/12/2007 10:31:19 PM
