My g/f has owned this car for the past 2 years and driven it on a daily basis. It runs well and she has never had any major problems with it. There are some known problems but it will run good for you.

-5 speed manual
-27 mpg
-4 cyl, 1.8L
-KBB value $880
-AC/heat work well
-runs well
-cd player

-Needs new clutch soon but works
-Needs new front passenger tire
-Gas latch is broken but you can still get to the tank
-Passenger window does not stay on track
-Passenger side door handle is broken and must be opened from inside

$700 nego.

if you put that new tire on it may pass.

new tire will cost you $40 or so.

most likely they will replace all of them. you're looking over $200 for a set installed.
that $900+ already for the car.

Dude out at the flea market on Capital Blvd. does used tires for $20 or $25 a pop installed iirc.

The clutch is what I'd worry about. That is what will leave you stranded on the side of the road and waiting on a $$$ towing and repair bill. Still, for $700...

Or put in a hoop and run it in the U-CAR class at Wake County Speedway this spring.

sorry i noobed all over the place with imageshack

here are some pics:

it was taken for inspection today and there were 2 things that did not pass... it needed new wiper blades (one had a tear in it) and needed 2 new bulbs. My g/f replaced the wiper blades today and they work well, and is going to replace the bulbs asap and have it re-inspected.

the tire - it passes inspection, but it has a very slow leak, so she has to fill it up every couple of weeks. that's why i said it would need to be replaced, but it does pass inspection

the clutch - it's drivable with the clutch on there, but if it was me buying the car it would be one of the first things i'd replace. The car shakes a little at times when idle due to the clutch. You could probably run it ragged for several months before replacing the clutch, but the car would be significantly improved with a new one.
