Okay, so this is what's going on...

I have a nice iTunes library setup on my MacBook.
I've got a PS3 & Apple TV now on my network.
I've setup a Windows based machine to be a server for the PS3 (using SimpleCenter) and Apple TV (iTunes).

However, when attempting to copy my iTunes library I've found out that about 15% of my songs don't have the correct tags (however the iTunes library information on my MacBook is correct).

Is there a way to force iTunes to write the correct MP3 header information to each song, almost as to overwrite any current information stored in the MP3 so that it matches the Library information?
If not, how can I copy my library information over to my Windows iTunes Library. (I've tried exporting the Library and editing the XML, but for some reason things keep going awry)

haha. i was just responding to their posts. besides you got a bump. sorry man i don't know how to fix the windows problem. you could manually edit the tags depending on what 15% of your library actually amounts to.

have you used iTunes to take care of all this to begin with? (managing your library)
and i would assume most of this music is downloaded rather than cd ripped or digitally bought?

I've edited most of the tags once already to correct all the problems in my library, that's partially the problem. (most of my music is CD ripped)

iTunes is set to manage my music and rearrange if necessary, that's why this is so extremely annoying.

any cd i've ripped, all the tags were fine and files/folders were in the right place
tags i've fixed for downloaded music... stayed fixed. i use iTunes to manage all of this as well. is there any factor you're leaving out?

The WTF factor?

Seriously don't know why about 15% of them are all screwed up, but none the less they are.

Is there a way to make iTunes update the ID3 tags?

I have had the same problem when upgrading my computer. After several hours of trying I gave up fixed them myself and was done with it.

1337 b4k4 they are both ripped and downloaded. There's not much rhyme or reason to it all.

Some iTunes, some from PC CD extraction software, some downloaded.

What's odd is all the track information is correct in the iTunes Library, I went through great lengths to clean it up when I made the switch to iTunes. Now it seems, even though I have the manage my library option enabled, about 30% of my library hasn't been modified.
