nc has been decriminalized for a while, and i could have sworn it meant possession less than XX ounce (half ounce maybe) was treated as a civil offense. Fine/court costs. at least when i got caught back in HS, it was not hard at all to get the case completely dismissed.

albeit, nothing like california.
