I've got the HTR-5740, and I've been nothing but pleased with it. Yamaha makes a pretty solid receiver, IMO.

I'm interested in the sub. How old is it?

I've already sold the four speakers I had. The sub is ~four years old, but I replaced the amp after 1.5 years. Needless to say, the sub's response is great now. I'll include the monster cable (10ft?), like I indicated in the post.
