reviews look pretty good, but the tww response always has a little more honesty than the mainstream review sites

Not only is it possible, but if you'll do a search for GPS in tech talk, you'll find at least 5 threads in which I and several other people have already given our opinions. Any one of those threads could have housed this question.

FWIW, I think shaming people into doing a simple search before going off creating duplicate threads is worthwhile.

I searched for tomtom and the one thread which is from January 2006 DID in fact answer me that no one has one of these

I heard Garmins were way better than TomTom's

I can't substantiate it any further than that but thats what I heard.
