lol. Evans is good for at least 1 throw to the other side of the ball no matter who it is. Here's to hoping he graduates and calls it a career though.

QB Fucking A, who knows! Candidates - Evans, Beck, Burke, Wilson, Glennon, hell lets just let Andre Brown impersonate Darren McFadden in the backfield
RB Who knows again. Brown, Baker, and Eugene will all get snaps. Underwood and Barnes may be able to get some PT too.
WR Bowens No. 1 Jarvis Williams and Darrell Davis time to shine and see which one grabs the No. 2 spot. Owen Spencer will certainly get more balls thrown his way as he'll probably be one of the backups. It'll be time to see what Jay Smith and Steven Howard can do.
TE Anthony Hill comes back from injury and regains his No. 1 spot. I'm guessing Matt Kushner will be the backup.
OL Curtis Crouch, Jake Vermiglio, Meares Green, Jeraill McCuller, and Julian Williams seem like they would be the starters. 11/24/2007 9:25:29 PM |

DL Cash, Young, Kuhn, Larsen, Bedics, and Holmes should all be the ones in the mix for starting on the D-line.
LB Michel, Irving, Ware, and Barnes should be in the mix. Terrell Manning if he gets over his injury is the only freshman that I think can be able to come in and play right away.
DB Our defensive backs seem to be the strength for the upcoming year. We'll have a lot of experience with DaJuan "Captain" Morgan, J.C. Neal, DeAndre Morgan, and Javon Walker that all seem to have the lockdown on the cornerback and safety positions for next year. 11/24/2007 9:41:00 PM |

KR Bowens, Eugene, and Brandon Barnes all might get PT here.
PR Same group as above.
PK Does Czajkowski get this by default?
P Pierson more than likely.
KOS Czajkowski or perhaps Pierson. It'd be good to get Ruiz, the JUCO transfer, some time and get some work out of that scholarship money.

^^ Most of the SEC would like to boot them out to the ACC...but the tailgating is alright, the area around the stadium is kind of shitty, out in the middle of nowhere kinda, not really near campus 11/25/2007 1:10:13 AM |

I still remember going down to Columbia as a child to see a Redskins vs. Jets pre-season game. It was the whole push to "Bring Football to the Carolinas". Place was packed out. I remember folks standing in the stairwells. I have been to Columbia since then and the downtown area along with USC's campus is beautiful. I am planning on making my first trip back to Williams-Bryce since then though. Hopefully we can steal a road win to start the year and we will have some other option at qb other than Mr. Pick Six!
I have always wondered why the hell did South Carolina peace out on the ACC?? They leave their primary rival in the other conference, join the toughest football conference in the country (and take plenty of lumps in doing so), and leave behind America's best basketball conference. Anybody have any insight to this? 11/25/2007 1:36:37 AM |

Essentially, they didn't want to have to adhere to the strict grade requirements imposed on college athletes by the ACC. There are more details, but that's pretty much what it came down to.
I'm in graduate school at USC, and I wish like HELL they were still in the ACC. I can catch most of the ACC basketball games on TV, but it'd be awesome to be able to go see them every week. Granted, SEC football is awesome, and SEC basketball is okay... but I was born and bred on ACC b-ball

I've been there a half-dozen times to see Florida play, and the fans there usually aren't too obnoxious. The stadium is well away from the campus (not unlike Carter-Finley), but the tailgating atmosphere is decent. Outside of the stadium, there is a restored old train that is rented by wealthy alumni for tailgating. Their fans are very loyal; if they went 0-11, the place would still be sold out for every game; however, they start pouring out of the stadium in the 3rd quarter if the team is behind.
Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Bama, and Ole Miss are all better road trips to see an SEC game, but it's still a better atmosphere than a lot of the places in the ACC. 11/25/2007 1:23:25 PM |

^That game was bad ass! We had just come off of the block party win in a kickoff classic down in Texas. I remember Terrance Holt had his coming out party in the Texas game! The SC game in the hurricane was great. I remember the hype surrounding it as Lou Holtz made his first trip back to Raleigh. Game was the Saturday nighter on ESPN, too. I liked the uniforms we had that year even though many people accuse them of being too 'Georgia-esque'. Levar Fisher had a monster game and we slugged it out in the downpour 10-0.
Augsust can't get here fast enough. I already feel this huge emptiness in my life knowing we don't play tomorrow 11/30/2007 10:54:02 PM |

i'm planning to go, a friend of mine has been at USC for 4 years so we've been to a couple games down there already. i'm usually pretty well and drunk when we're tailgating down there, but i do remember some stuff.
their tailgating is pretty good, its in the fairgrounds similar to ours, but they surround the stadium. there isn't really student vs non-student parking as far as i know. parking is like $20 in the fairgrounds lots though, unless its the state fair weekend when parking is free.
usually, except for big games, you can get tickets right outside the stadium. their stadium is large, and they play that annoying as fighting rooster noise ALL THE TIME. it gets loud, but usually the noise isn't sustained. like a lot of SEC schools, the game is a social event as much as anything else.
lots of people, lots of food and lots of liquor.12/1/2007 2:07:48 AM |

So who do you have in your preseason Top 25 for next year. I can tell you who are my top 3 right now.
1. Oklahoma (bring back a ton from a team that won the Big XII and at times looked scary good) 2. Florida (bring back Tebow and a lot of other things. a lot of hype will follow this team) 3. USC (could be #1 as well) 4. LSU (despite losing Flynn and Dorsey as well as some others, they still return a lot. this is pending Miles return)
don't really know who else might be up there. Mizzou? Kansas? Georgia? VT?
25. NC State 12/2/2007 7:47:40 AM |

This is preseason Top 25, so anything can happen from the preseason all the way to the final.
1. Oklahoma 2. Florida 3. USC 4. LSU 5. Ohio State 6. Virginia Tech 7. Georgia 8. Mizzou 9. West Virginia (either them or whoever's on the top of the Big East) 10. Kansas (they return enough to be a 2 loss, maybe 3 loss at the most. we'll see if they can do that though.) 11. Texas 12. Clemson 13. Arizona State 14. Boise State (or some other non-BCS conference team predicted to go undefeated) 15. Illinois 16. Tennessee 17. Wisconsin 18. Auburn 19. Cal 20. USF 21. Florida State (b/c despite seeing what FSU has given us these past couple of years, the writers will say "oh it's their year to break out" and crap like that. 22. Rutgers (lot of hype if Rice returns would get them this kind of ranking) 23. Michigan 24. Alabama 25. NC State 12/2/2007 5:36:29 PM |
