My nc state webmail is going to expire in January and i am wondering what is a good email to use. I have a yahoo.com email account but it gets an emense amount of junk mail and i dont like that one. Anyone have any suggestions.

I got a domain name on http://www.godaddy.com for $8.95 a year, it comes with a 25MB pop3 email account and web mail access.

But yeah like everyone else is saying G Mail is pretty much the only free email address that people don't automatically associate with you being too dumb/broke to get a pay account.

fyi they will forward your email from your unity account for up to 5 years (i think but don't quote me), so it would be wise to get your unity account mail forwarded to your new address.

Yahoo, Hotmail and aol emails just look terribly unprofessional. Same with people who list myspace as their website. This is just how I see things. If some one sends me an email from one of those 3 domains and I don't know who it is, I delete it. Those are known spammer domains.

It is definitely worth it to have a somewhat professional looking personal e-mail address. Chances are you don't stay with the same company your whole career. You will probably want past colleagues and contacts to be able to recognize your personal address.

i never used the web space fastmail gives... just because ive had my own domain/storage for years. but i will say fastmail is an awesome service. I love the folder@username.fastmail.fm and username+folder@fastmail.fm folder auto-organization stuff.

I had cbwilliamson@hotmail.com for YEARS. When e-mail spam first went completely out of control they were not equipped for it. I could not even find any real messages between the hundreds of spam that came in a day. It pretty much got abandoned and all of my saved e-mails lost when I let the 90 day window pass.
