if its a scrape then sure.

but you are better off using brake fluid. it will stop the bleeding.

it's my dog. worst injury is one ear is clipped about a centimeter deep, and she also has a small nic on her snout. my roommates dog needs to go to the vet really.

I would just put some neosporin on the wound and bandage if it possible. But you probably won't be able to bandage it so as long as it's not bleeding then just use the antibiotic ointment.

^^^ If you're not going directly to emergency medical treatment, you must clean the wound before you cauterize it. Otherwise, you seal in contaminants.

i dont know about dogs but with humans i thought you had to be pretty careful about deeper cuts. neosporin/alcohol are usually not good for deeper wounds. you can clean it with a spray saline that you can get in the bandage section at the grocery/drug store. thats the best bet just to spray it out then tape the wound (if it really is a centimeter deep) and put a bandage over it. again, i dont know dogs, i just fix myself from time to time.

k, folks, chill out. one of my other roommates suggested the beer. i was just curious. i didn't take my dog to the vet (unnecessary considering how minor the wounds are), but i cleaned/fixed her up well enough. she's as happy as can be.

my roommate's dog is still fucked up and actually probably should go to the vet, but she's apparently doesn't have the money. the wounds aren't life threatening though. the dog is just obviously in discomfort. if her dog wasn't such an antagonizing cunt bitch, i would loan my roommate money. oh well.

peroxide the wounds regularly and put some antibiotic on them...also, i think you can give dogs a pain killer but I forget which one...don't give them the wrong one or they'll die, so I'd check on that

^^^Just peroxide the wound once, then neosporin. Continuing to peroxide the wound will hinder the healing process. Just scrub with soap and water if you need to.
