but meth is some serious fucked up shit. its bad here in washington, but i understand it may be even worse in the midwest.

its really one of the worst drugs ever, because it is so cheap, easily available, and physically destructive. you'd be better off if you were just inhaling glue or paint.

meth is especially prevalent in the midwestern area of the country. its really bad on the west coast too. because, its so damn easy to make, all you really need is space.

i dont know how meth is doing in the eastern corridor... perhaps crack still has the market there?

when I was a firefighter in the far western part of NC, meth was a pretty big concern, especially the lab fires. you could be driving down some back road and see a little trailer tucked back in the woods with propane bottles outside, and pretty much know what was going on there.

i dont think the % stats for montana are radically different than any other state.

its probably easier to get meth than it is to score some decent bud. marijuana users are discrete for the most part and take great pains to not get busted selling smoke to dumbass kids. meth users will sell their grandma to a hamburger factory just to get another fix.

NC just launched a meth initiative this past month.

Apparently, due to NC politics and some shit that happened to Easley, since the Attorney General is elected, they are not allowed to produce commercials like those you see here. The NCDOJ is the agency that handles all that type of shit in NC.

They are allowed to hand out pamphlets and videos personally ad naseum, but they can't make commercials.

Yay politics.

Alright, I know I'm a n00b and all, but really, are those pictures from long time users? I've been in raleigh and cary most of my life, and never heard a thing about it, and the whole "not even once" thing makes it seem like doing it one time will totally ruin your life. Maybe it's incredibly addictive, maybe it does have terrible side affects from one time, but I've been around some shady people and never heard anything of the sort. these videos don't seem to inform me that much

That is and always has been my problem with drug education - acting like trying *any drug at ALL* will ruin your life just means anyone who gets curious realizes they've been feed at least partial bullshit when they try something like pot or something else that frankly- isn't that way.

That said - I'm not sure or not if the argument applies to meth really - from what I understand it's incredibly addictive and not many people just try it a couple times and walk away. I could be wrong there though.
