I was wondering if anybody knows of any apt complexes that do 6 month leases, preferably on the west or south sides of Raleigh. No pets, nothing fancy, but not in the ghetto either. It would be starting February 1, 2008. 12/6/2007 12:08:08 PM |

The student apartments usually say no way because they have a hard time filling vacancies mid school year. They might work with you if you rent from now to August though.
Regular complexes will usually do it but you rent is gonna be higher. 12/6/2007 12:17:58 PM |

Heard mostly good things about Wildwoods, though it can be a bit pricey.
Though I don't know for sure if they offer 6 month leases, I'd check out: Cameron Village Condos II (along Daniels Street just north of CV) They're individually owned and not all managed by the same company so you'd just have to look out for "For Rent" signs. Nice older places, very reasonable. I lived there for 3 years. Small, and no dishwasher, but generally well kept-up and in a fantastic location.
Cameron Court/Shelton Arms/Grosvenor Gardens/Boylan Apts. These 4 complexes are all in the same 2 blocks of Hillsborough, between Morgan and Boylan. Old (1930's-1940's) brick buildings with big windows and hardwood floors, and nice landscaped common areas. Plenty of 1br units between them. Prices vary.
Raleigh Apts. Off Clark, just east of Cameron Village. Another representative of the "solid old brick building with hardwood floors" set. Again, good location and reasonable. Main drawback here is they don't have central A/C, but if you can live with a window unit, could be a nice option.

The Summit on Lake Dam road. there is also Remington apartments further up Lake Dam. When I lived at the Summit, they offered 6-month leases and they weren't all that expensive for a one-bedroom with washer/dryer hookups.12/7/2007 4:14:53 PM |

A few years ago I lived in a one bedroom for $600/mo right down the street from crabtree valley mall. It was off of Fairhill Rd. (the corner of glenwood ragazzis is on). I can't remember the name, though. Great apartment and it was right next to the greenway where I could walk my dogs and stuff. 12/7/2007 4:38:57 PM |

The Raleigh Apts behind Cameron Village. A studio apt is 400 something per month and when I lived there I lived in a good sized one bedroom for 540/month. Utilities weren't much. Water is included. Yes, there isn't central air. Lived there in the summer with a window unit and survived fine. 12/9/2007 1:37:41 AM |
