I live in an older house and one of our circuits has tripped a few times in the past because we plug like 3 or 4 electric heaters into the same circuit. today it tripped and this is the first time we've had a problem trying to reset it. We've unplugged everything that we know of that's on the circuit, but it still won't reset, it just flips back to the tripped position. any ideas?

Got pissed over a receptacle today. I could not find the Circuit Breaker (screwy,old panal)
So I tripped it...with a pair of channel-locks
Fried the bloody breaker
Fucken Fireworks ....20Amp break
Going to the supply store in the AM

Breakers trigger by heat. It's possible the constant overheating has warped or corroded the mechanism, meaning you'll have to get it replaced.
