List em, got some friends coming in from out of town and want to sample some of the bar life in Greensboro (not night club type, but chill + beer + conversation)

Of course we've got Natty's and McCouls, but what are some of yall's favorites? I never go out to drink anymore, so I have no idea what's around

I've kept meaning to go to the Red Oak brewpub off College, but have never quite made it there, so I don't know what it's like. But a fresh glass of Red Oak would be nice right about now.

Cafe Europa on Davie is awesome on Wednesday night's (or any night of the week, imho) if you're looking for a chill place for conversation, drinks, and good service

There's a new place that just opened up next to Natty's called Grey's Tavern (I haven't been there but my roommate has been and said it's pretty sweet). It's always busy when I walk by, so it must be at least decent. And they have a lot of TV's so it'd be a good place to watch games if that's something you'd like to do.

The Green Burro (already been mentioned above) is also a good choice with a lot of beer on tap and good mix of music.

There's also the N Club!

All depends on what kind of night you're looking to have.

my brother had a party at the green burro thursday night, for his college graduation, and i was a fan. but he rented the room out, so it was nice. the manager even opened up the pool table so it was free all night. and the bartender we had was pretty cool.

the only warning - it's two flights of stairs up (above McCoul's), so you have to be careful not to get too wasted.

I think that was the Sofa Bar. Was it on a corner near some train tracks?

I ended up there a couple of times, the place had a fun vibe.

yes it does. but sadly, i am stuck here. luckily the game turned out to be horrible so didn't really need to venture out in public amidst the unc fans to watch it anyway

HAHHAHAH FAT DOGS

man my brother used to live on lindell near spring garden and i'd sometimes end up over there and we always walked to that fucking terrible bar. the only good part about it was that the food was always free cause of video poker. but the food was the worst bar food ever.

but there is something to be said for a 2 minute walk to a bar (and a 10 minute walk home)

but i dont drink to that point anymore, sometimes i just go to like hams @brassfield (i used to work there) or backstreets or taproom or speakeasy (djeternal showed me that one).

also got dragged to the "N CLUB" downtown a few times, ha ha.... funny

nattys has a reputation somehow, where out of towners want to go. its like the flying saucer with worse beer and worse people. im not a big fan, but i can go and keep quiet about it while i'm there.
