Anyone know of a good wedding officiant? I am looking for mostly non-denominational and my fiance would prefer a man to conduct the ceremony.
And yes i googled and looked on theknot.com

And if there was a member of yours or his family that you think would do a good job--you could foot the bill to have them ordained you got time!

haha if only it were that simple.
We found one guy but he wanted $370 but he said he charged that much because he gives a wonderful ceremony and proof reads our invitations and programs and he also has at least 2 meetings with us. That just seems way too much for 30 minutes of service.

Why don't you get someone close to you to get ordained? A family friend or uncle, maybe.

sound like more than 30 minutes worth of work to me

We went to the Wake County Magistrate's office one day to get our license, and the guy on duty agreed to do our offsite wedding. He spent about 30 minutes talking to us to make sure we knew what we were getting into , then we went over the ceremony. I think he charged about $100 and he was excellent. Even the uber-religious family members were mostly okay with the ceremony. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name right now and don't have time to dig out the marriage certificate. Guess the point is to just go down to the magistrate's office and hope you get lucky.

Nah, if you don't like the first one chances are that you'll get to try again later.

I still say you should talk a friend into the free ordination and ceremony thing. A good ceremony is as short as possible anyway. Fuck it, the BEST wedding is when you elope, then have a reception later so no one has to be bored at the ceremony at all. Cheaper too.

I meant that i wanted someone to just do the ceremony and nothing else. I don't want to pay for services i don't need (like proof reading and marriage counseling)
