so i reformatted my laptop and was reinstalling drivers and such, but the only one it won't let me install is my audio driver. first it will say that it doesn't pass the windows logo test, i hit continue anyway , it goes through the whole process, it asks me if i want to restart now and i do, then when starts back up nothing. i went to the control panel and it says i have no sound.
i have never had this problem before and it is really pissing me off. i have searched google and can't find any answers that fix the problem(i am still looking though)
help if you can and i thank you in advance 12/22/2007 7:39:50 PM |

Are you getting the driver from a CD, or the website?
Check the website for your model number. They often have several different drivers for one model, depending on what taiwanese supplier they were using that week. Keep trying audio drivers until one works. Make sure you uninstall the failed one each time.
You can also check the back of the laptop for the model number of the audio card, prolly won't be there though. 12/22/2007 8:33:01 PM |

sometimes, driver problems are caused by conflicting devices. Did you recently add any new hardware/software?
Like someone mentioned already....best thing to do would be to go to company website and download latest audio drivers and install them. (Remove the old one before you install the new one) 12/24/2007 3:33:56 PM |
