Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama have been in a running feud arising from her suggestion at Saturday’s debate that he was raising “false hope.” Mr. Obama responded that Mr. Kennedy did not decide going to the moon was a false hope and that Martin Luther King, Jr. did not see ending segregation as such. “Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act,” Mrs. Clinton said when asked about Mr. Obama’s rejoinder by Fox’s Major Garrett after her speech in Dover. “It took a president to get it done.” The Obama campaign declined to comment on either of those remarks. Later, during an appearance in Salem, Mrs. Clinton refined her remarks on Fox: “You know, today Senator Obama used President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to criticize me. He basically compared himself to our greatest heroes because they gave great speeches. “President Kennedy was in Congress for 14 years. He was a war hero. He was a man of great accomplishments and readiness to be president. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a movement. He was gassed. He was beaten. He was jailed. And he gave a speech that was one of the most beautifully, profoundly important speeches ever written in America, the “I have a dream” speech. “And then he worked with President Johnson to get the civil rights laws passed, because the dream couldn’t be realized until finally it was legally permissible for people of all colors and backgrounds and races and ethnicities to be accepted as citizens. “I’m running for president because I believe that there is not a contradiction between experience and change.” "

WOW.... So basically Clinton/operatives are reduced to suggesting that we not support Obama b/c he may get assassinated like JFK..... And diminishing MLK Jr.'s role in civil rights.

Granted, that would be DUMB AS HELL for anyone, but that may be the way the comments come across.... especially once the media machines start their "analysis".

What could she possibly see as positive about even bringing the subject up at all?

It's one thing if she's crying at the end of the primaries if and when her campaign has lost. Yet to cry during the campaign, in public, is not a good sign. For a national leader, I want someone who can keep a strong front during those crisis moments. If she can't handle a setback to her campaign, especially when the primaries are just beginning, then I have to question her nerves.

The candidate can cry/freakout all he or she wants in private, but for someone who has to lead people, I don't want them showing a lack of resolve in public. Well, seeing as her tears seemed to stem from a love of her country, I wouldn't find that as too much of a bad thing. She feels like the country is going down the shitter and she wants to make a difference because she loves it. I know I've felt like crying over how things have gone over the past 7 years or so because I love America so much and I don't cry easily.

i think it was similar with hillary, although not so much for the money as the power...the smart thing was to stick with him because she stayed publicly and politically relevant, but i think she wouldve gotten more respect if she had left which mightve helped her now

but also the image, whether sincere or not, of a 'typical family' of a wife and husband is a lot more appealing to the general public than someone divorced...i think thats gonna end up killing giulliani...although power hungry people like giuliani and the clintons are probably married to politics more than any individual person
