Anyone have any experience using a phone that can only utilize 1900 mhz on AT&T? Supposedly from my readings NC, SC, and eastern TN are exclusively 1900, no 850 anywhere. I'm planning to buy a triband without 850 support and just want to see if anyone has done the same.
I don't really go outside of central NC too often, maybe once every few months or so and usually it's to a populous area that should have 1900 or 850/1900 coverage. I don't think it would be a problem but I know there are some smart cell phone folk on here and thought I'd check before I dropped the money on a phone that would be useless. 1/9/2008 9:55:58 PM |

I did some work for Cingular wireless last year on their tower sites, and everything we tested was in the PCS band (1900). I would be willing to bet they have no active 850 in NC/SC. 1/10/2008 11:13:36 AM |
