Bahama Breeze fucking blows. Mellow Mushroom on the other hand is actually pretty damn good. As far as Lilly's goes, I go through phases where I prefer one to the other. Also, you can't compare NY style specialty pizza joints like MM, Lilly's, Capital Creations, etc.

I actually like Bahama Breeze, but not the one in Raleigh. That Aruba Red beer is REALLY GOOD and I love a few of their apps... I wouldn't want to go there for dinner really but it is good for happy hour/apps after work..

^ IMHO, I think the best pizzas at lillys are the ones with few ingredients... like a pepperoni mushroom. If you get the specialty pizzas with a shit ton of stuff, it takes away from their sauce and crust which are next to none.


Mellow mushroom on the other hand, load it up with everything. Those are the better pizzas.

moonlight has excellent pizza but the last time i went there i got absolutely horrible service, and the hostess was very rude on top. they comped our appetizers (half price) but i still haven't been back. i've been craving greenhouse pizza lately though

I like Mellow Mushroom--the one on Peace Street--I eat there all the time. I have had some service problems there, though. I haven't tried Lily's, but I will. City Guide has Mellow Mushroom as number one--not that it really matters:

BTW, try the West Indies Patties, which are crispy pastries with savory beef filling served with seasoned sour cream and apple-mango salsa, at Bahama Breeze. The name is misleading--they're just little meat pies--but they are delicious!

I went to Mellow Mushroom last night...the food was good...

but I had an absolute retard for my waiter. Seriously, it must've been his first hour working. Its really hard to mess up as hard as he did.

First off, he brought 3 checks for 4 people. Two checks had messed up meals on them, although the price was the same for each. After flagging him down and bringing the 4th check, we gave credit cards. Later, he brings back 2 paid checks. We flag him down after a few minutes and he remembers he left the third book (with 2 checks in it) and bring it back.

Love the pizza but I hate eating in there. Too many yuppies trying to be "seen" at the quirky hip place. I prefer to enjoy Lilly's in the comfort of home sans yuppies plus a few brew.

MM sucks.. last time i went there food was almost as bad as the service.

lilly's is good, as is moonlight.

lynnwood grill has pretty good pizza..

i worked at a place called amante (in cary/morrisville) for years back when i was in high school & undergrad.. good stuff (pretty similar to capital creations/lilly's)
