one time front-runner leading in California + NY + Florida,

What happened?!

Yeah, kind of like the Fred Thompson strategy.

You don't win the primaries by not campaigning until the last minute. Didn't anyone read "The Tortoise and the Hare" when they were a kid?

He fucked up by being a yankee and trying to run as a Republican.

Sadly this must be the case. He fell off TV and then shortly thereafter fell off anything else. He had Fox News in his pocket a few months ago.

okay... here's the strategy:

we lose the first six or seven states miserably...

we'll do so bad that even Ron Paul looks viable...

then, once everyone has forgotten that I'm even running for president, we'll do a sneak attack and out-flank the whole lot of them...

and coast right on into the White House.

Gee, sir. That's brilliant. Utterly brilliant!

You think so? I thought it up while laying awake in bed last night.

lion, why do you feel that way?

I think having some executive experience is a plus for this election cycle. I like the fact that he is more fiscally conservative than social, and seems to pull the party back towards fiscal and away from the religious.

Did I mention 9/11. hahah, kidding.

Giuliani made a strategic campaign decision to focus limited resources on Florida. It's really quite simple.

mostly because I think the guy's a war-hawk and I think he would continue the doctrine of preemptive strikes throughout the world at an even greater pace than Bush started.

Plus, by continuing to doggedly pursue his original campaign strategy (playing on the terror and fear of 9/11) for months and months after it was clear that people were not being moved by it, he is showing a clear lack of judgment and inability to read people's feelings. Seriously, what kind of douchebag loses and election and comes back with "Am I worried? I'll tell you when I was worried. On [you fill in the blank]" His whole campaign is based on the presumption that Americans are and should be scared shitless, living in a constant state of fear of death. Being defensive and stalwart is one thing. Being a warmongering FUD-spreader is another, and I don't want that in a president.

try this:
Quote :
"people bitching about him cheating on his ex wife while using city money and resources (police officers) to fund and hide his affair"

also, it's not hard to find the NY City Fire Fighters and Police Officers who decry his lack of planning, management and oversight before 9/11, regardless of how strong or comforting he was in the days after it.

lion, I dont think you will see anyone rush into a war unless attacked. One reason is we cant afford it right now. You will see whoever wins start pulling out of iraq, bc its actually getting better. Want proof? Just watch tv, its doom and gloom on the economy NO mention of the war anymore. haha

I actually am hoping Rudy can win florida to continue his run. He is also proposing a tax decrease as well. I would like to see Romney and Rudy be the final two and watch some debates between them before I make my pick.

His strategy does seem to be a failure at this point, but if he pulls it out it might be genius.

I'm sorry but I understand that we need a little bit of stimulus in the economy, that's why we're getting the rebates, but more tax cuts? Seriously? How about some fucking spending cuts. Guaran-damn-tee that they're not as vocal about some serious spending cutbacks.

I am voting democrat, although I haven't decided whom I'm going to vote for.

My problem with the republicans is the fact that they spout fiscal conservatism and then they don't come through. I'd be incredibly impressed if any of the republicans actually get into office and do cut spending.

I'd like to think that the Dems are going to cut spending as well, but they're also not talking about tax cuts.

You must be a democrat jo.

Rudy's plan:
1.Bring Order To The Border: Congress authorized the construction of 700 miles of border fence in 2006 and then appropriated over $1.1 billion for border security. However, Washington has only built a few dozen miles of fence. Rudy will commit to building the fence – both physical and high-tech – now, while deploying and maintaining 20,000 Border Patrol agents and measuring their progress toward ending illegal immigration

2.Deport All Illegal Aliens Who Commit A Felony

3.Implement BorderStat: use key indicators to identify both effective enforcement strategies that demonstrate tangible results and areas of the border where we are failing so the failures can be immediately corrected

4.Issue A Single, Tamper-Proof Biometric ID Card for all non-citizen workers and students

5.Create A Single National Database Of Foreigners

6.Identify Those Who Have Left The Country With Biometric Check-out System

7.Require All Immigrants to Truly Read, Write & Speak English

McCains Plan?
Here is CNN's take: http://youtube.com/watch?v=WCHVXzBo3qg

HAHA, yeah no difference. Oh and Obama supported it.

Ive also said I dont know who I would vote for, but I dont remember Rudy trying to sneak through an amnesty bill a couple months prior. Id like for Rudy to continue with the debates and he needs to win florida for that to happen.

Nothing is tamper-proof (at least, nothing stays that way long) and biometrics are about the line where I start to get concerned about invasion of privacy issues. And I'm in favor of a national ID card, which many people are already concerned violates those rights.

Patently offensive, frighteningly reminiscient of the worst dictators and murderers in history, and impractical to implement, which is good, given how unspeakably horrible it would be if we could actually do it.

There are native-born Americans, people who were taught by our education system, who cannot read and write English. Maybe we should worry about taking care of our own kids before we start looking for reasons to throw out Mexicans?

I swear, I just don't understand where this crazy anti-Mexican boner comes from.

The best is when they want to build a fucking fence across the Mexican border--you know, to keep the terrorists out--but inexplicably don't push for a similar fence along the Canadian border.

I stand corrected. My take on the plans came from the new hampshire debate where they seemingly agreed on everything except for the biometric ID. Nevertheless, this post is a fantastic example of where Guiliani fucked up.

For most Americans, it's not about "jooobs"

What do you tell the Mexicans and all other immigrants who are following our rules and waiting their turn to come to the US?
What do you say to them while they watch millions of people break our law and sneak in ahead of them...and then nothing is done about it?

Either have an immigration policy and enforce it aggressively, or don't have one at all.

But what kind of message are we sending citizens when 11 million newcomers' first relationship with our country is to violate its law and get away with it?
