I have some old monitors and other electronic equipment. Definitly doesn't work anymore, but is there a recycle center that won't cost me 5bux to use? I don't mind donating the towers but the monitors are total crap. 2/4/2008 11:51:23 AM |

You can recycle them for free at the Wake County facility in North Raleigh. It is way in north Raleigh off of Durant Rd

It looks like they'll actually pick it up curbside if you call and schedule it (assuming you're in wake county solid waste services' collection area, not an apartment that has private garbage collection).
Quote : | "Residents must call Solid Waste Services at 831-6890 to arrange for the special computer collection. Once an appointment is made the resident can leave the computer equipment at the curbside. Please do not set equipment out prior to the morning of the day designated for collection as it is not uncommon for such equipment to be taken by other people before city crews can get to it the next day." |

Harnett County still just buries them with the rest of the trash. If you know someone that lives there, it's $30/ton.
[Edited on February 4, 2008 at 1:31 PM. Reason : Or hide them in your curbside trashcan and wait for the explosions in the crusher!]

Good-Will should take them. They have a deal set up with some fancy monitor company that likes to take the old ones and steal parts to refurbish other ones or something along those lines.
[Edited on February 4, 2008 at 6:47 PM. Reason : the monitors, at least. dunno about any other electronic crap.] 2/4/2008 6:47:37 PM |
