So I have some training $ to spend, so I was thinking about taking a class or two there. Anyone ever taken a class there? Know of any other training places (anywhere in the US) that are better? The fact that they have a "Webmaster Certificate Program" makes me a little hesitant. I don't think I've heard anyone use that word in a long time

No clue, but they are charging ~$3,500-5,000 for the entire "track" of courses. Ouch. And it doesn't look like the courses really deal with anything very advanced either.

Correction, they deal with advanced topics, but I'd bet they don't get very deep/involved with them.

.NET
Object-Oriented
Oracle
Perl
UNIX
XML and Web Services

Sorry, had to copy and paste. I work on the courseware side, so I sell all of the materials for classes worldwide. If you have something specific you need, let me know-I probably know somebody somewhere who teaches it.

^^^ in class, not virtual or computer or whatever. i was planning on staying in raleigh, but can travel if theres a great program/class somewhere.

so i'm starting to think about new horizons, but the thing holding me back from them is they do this "mentored learning" thing nearly exclusively. the way it works is you have a workstation setup with two screens, the one of the left is playing a video presentation going, and you do work in the right monitor. and there an instructor roaming around answering questions. sound like 1 instructor to 12 or 13 students. not so sure i like the sound of that. do you guys think the traditional instructor led classes are better or would u rather try out the "mentored learning"

any more opinions of the NCSU computer training unit?

12 people in a class is a lot imo. Our instructor-led private training classes only have 3-6 students and we are very busy.

I like private training w/ an instructor because they know a ton about what they teach. The smaller companies have instructors that are very specialized.

Have you looked at Global Knowledge? I honestly don't know a whole lot about them but my dad has taken a lot of courses through them for work.

I'd like to be able to answer this, but I'd have to take off my employee hat.
