I am attempting to find a digital road map of Texas that I could then send to kinkos to have mounted.

The intended use is for plotting routes.

All the maps I've found are either too large or they aren't road maps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ideal size of the end map would be 30x30" +/- 5"

Just go to a book store and buy a road atlas.

I have one from about 10 years ago and I still use it whenever I drive cross country.

he wants it as a wall mounted map.

is there such a thing as a map store in raleigh?

is there any way to convert google maps into a large 300dpi image file?

The Department for Transportation for each state normally has some map info: http://www.dot.state.tx.us/travel/maps.htm

Try the first link... (and it's zoomed way out initially, don't let it fool you).

i used to use wall mounted maps for plotting routes and just bought them. seems like a waste of time to try to print your own to maybe save a few dollars, you can buy them online from many places.

Microsoft Streets and Trips if this is just for him personally.

Microsoft Map Point if this is for business, it does route optimization, return routes etc etc etc

map point is a great app but unless things have changed recently both it and streets and trips suck for use in the car with gps if you have to keep that in mind at all
