So apparently there were only about 2900 tickets allocated to students in the campout that consisted of 3200 students.

With this, campout decided that you HAD to be present at all times to receive tickets, if you weren't you didnt receive. this would eliminate those extra tickets needed that couldnt be accounted for and normally about 200 people are no shows anyways.


HERES WHERE IT GETS NASTY

Student Body President Bobby Mills has decided along with Tom Stafford Vice Chancellor of Student affairs that only about 1450 tickets will be used for campout. Those tickets will THEN be placed in a lottery with the names from campout. you ARE NOT guaranteed a ticket by going to campout as originally document by the campus committee that came up with this from Student Government.

the remaining 1450 tickets will be placed in a lottery online for students that DID NOT go to campout.

for those of you that cant do the numbers...you essentially have the SAME chances of getting tickets by attending campout as a person who does not attend.

you have YOUR student body president Bobby Mills and Tom Stafford to thank for this decision that was made at 4:45 PM this afternoon.

my advice is to email these three people and ask them WHY they would do this and basically let them have it as far as your concerns and how bitter you are that youre getting screwed out of this tradition.

I didnt apply for campout and im still pissed that something like this would happen.

I don't believe this. For one, the original policy is that you don't have to be at EVERY Check, but you must be at atleast two to receive tickets. For two.....EVERYTHING i've received and read, including emails i got TODAY stated that point, and that if there are any tickets left over, they would be put in the on demand, not half of them.

The university can and does send emails to everyone

that being said, SG is not the "The university" . . . but they have sent several other emails to everyone registered to campout and could easily send another to all of them stating what is in this thread (if it were/is true).

So what, there has been atleast 1 campout in the past couple years where they had more applicants than tickets and they essentially did a lottery to determine what groups could campout and the others were put on a waiting list.

As dumb as Stafford and company are, I still can't believe they wouldn't have considered the possibility that they have more campers than they did tickets. You know, worst case scenario kind of thing.

And their original plan in the Technician actually made sense. Why should someone get a ticket if they never even show up to Lee Field? I don't care if you've got work, birthday, or whatever. If you're not there, how are you any different from the other students who want tickets but didn't sign up?

They should stick to the original plan or else start planning for a riot.

Anyway personally I agree that campout students should get first dibs, I attended most all the basketball home games my last 3 years at State and I didnt get to sit in the lower level at a State-UNC game until my senior year (but the win made it all worth it)
