Hey folks,
I think i'm in search of a 15" LCD, cable included, for an HP ze2000
the last time I bought computer parts was back when egghead was the big thing... where's the cheapest/best place to get parts now?
the problem i'm having is that the LCD goes on the fritz occasionally. It's corrected by pressing the lcd on the sides until it eventually "catches" and stops jerking off. Anytime i move the LCD, it starts screwing up.
I'm thinking its an LCD issue, but it may only be an LCD cable issue, as there are no cracks in the LCD itself. It stops everytime i hold the LCD against the back of the case.
any ideas? 2/18/2008 10:33:21 PM |

have you tried just cleaning and reseating the LVDS connector? The same type of thing happened on my Toshiba laptop, a quick isopropyl dip for the connector and wipe of the other end of the connection fixed it right up. 2/18/2008 10:54:10 PM |

Usually there's a plate right above the keyboard that can be easily removed. Generally the LCD panel connects to the motherboard at the top left or top right of the base (the cable routes through the hinge). Get the instructions to disassemble your laptop and take it apart. 2/19/2008 12:33:31 AM |

The LCD laptop is connected by a thin, flexible ribbon cable. Just as Noen said, it's usually right below the keyboard and fairly easy to fix. 2/19/2008 6:36:45 AM |
