anyone read or collect these? my girlfriend got me bee thousand for my birthday. pretty interesting. the author can go a little overboard in his verbiage, but it's got some great anecdotes, especially from bob pollard himself. 2/20/2008 3:01:23 PM |

the whole series is very hit or miss
for example, the book for in the aeroplane over the sea is great, but the loveless book is awful and the one for rid of me is basically a novella that has nothing to do with the album 2/20/2008 4:26:19 PM |

i read a little bit of let it be (the replacements one) and it's basically colin meloy's life story, which is kind of annoying. i'm pretty interested in the NMH one, daydream nation and doolittle. and ok computer.
i think they're best when they provide backstory and insight into the production of the albums.. sort of like vh1's behind the music. 2/20/2008 6:37:27 PM |

I have the NMH one. It is fantastic. I am also curious in checking out the ones on The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, Meat Is Murder, The Velvet Underground and Nico, OK Computer, Pet Sounds, Low, and Doolittle. 2/20/2008 10:02:11 PM |
