indicted.

Republican Rep. Rick Renzi was indicted Friday on charges of extortion, wire fraud, money laundering and other matters in an Arizona land swap scam that allegedly helped him collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in payoffs.

A 26-page federal indictment unsealed in Tucson, Ariz., accuses Renzi and two former business partners of embezzlement and conspiring to promote the sale of land that buyers could swap for property owned by the federal government.

Guess you missed these reports about lawmakers right here in North Carolina over just the past couple of weeks:

Wright [D] Told Agent He Pocketed Charitable Money for "Sweat Equity"

http://wral.com/news/state/story/2431070/

State Audit: Rep. Mary McAllister [D] Used Nonprofit for Politics

http://wral.com/news/state/story/2450802/

And in 2007, McAllister's campaign was fined $16,000 fine by the State Board of Elections for "campaign finance violations."

Jim Black [D]--Still in Jail

^why the hell is it always gotta be partisan? D or R, if you commit a crime as a result of being in a position of public power, you should be punished to the full extent of the law.

^ Agreed--just keeping the thread balanced. And it's like I told you in a related thread:

Yeah...

Let's just go ahead and get the word out right now that both parties have corruption, and no one party is better than the other for their personal actions/decisions to do something illegal/decisions to set aside some pork money/decisions to do something outrageous and stupid.

They're both bastards. BOTH OF THEM. BOTH OF THEM NEED TO GO BURN IN THE FIRES OF HELL.

K. I just wanted to get that out there before this thread goes any further.

^^yes, but it just illustrates how many people fall right in line with the very actions they condem....if a R commits a crime, fellow R's just point out past transgressions of D's instead of addressing and dealing with the problem, and vice versa. its maddening.

Although there are exceptions

Id say Dems and the GOP are just two different factions of the same party

"Government watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington applauded the Justice Department for holding Renzi "accountable given that his House colleagues refused to do so." The group has had Renzi on its "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" list for the last three years.

"Bluster aside, this latest in a string of congressional indictments demonstrates that Congress simply will not police itself," said CREW executive director Melanie Sloan. "

Show of hands...

Who wants to give the gov't more control over you by electing Mr. Change?

Politicians suck, all of them. Why the fuck would a person want to give them and the Gov'ment more power. Vote conservative
