zxappeal did you ever purchase a pop-up?

I'm somewhat interested in one and would like to hear some personal opinions.

never really saw the advantage to a pop-up over a tent and an air mattress

i think they would become more apparent on longer excursions over just a weekend in the woods. I love my tent and mattress set up and have pretty much anything and everything needed for camping for long periods, but sometimes the creature comforts and ability to "escape" nature if only briefly would be nice.

and it would be damn good for long nascar tailgating weekends with the ac/dc/water hook ups.

^^ toss in a propane generator and A/C unit and your tent could hang

An AC unit would have me camping a lot more in the summer. I hate waking up at 6:00 a.m. still slightly drunk hungover as hell and sweating bullets because it feels like the sun has turned the tent into a small oven.

man this is weird. I was looking at getting one myself, with a truck and a trailer and doing away with my minivan.

craigslist is definitely the way to go it seems, but i can never make myself trust an add where the guy can barely type the name and model of the camper much less any details about it.

dealers seem very overpriced. Ragged, i'm interested to hear what kind of deal you picked up.

nope. you just show up from the middle of the atlantic ocean, stay up all night drinking, and ride your jetski off into the horizon the next morning

hahaha, true

that was fun, but i'll never do it again unless (a) it's really warm, (b) we camp on the near side of the hook, and (c) I bring my GPS with me to pick my way through the short way from Beaufort instead of having to go all the way from the Shackleford Banks inlet

dan, dont know if youre interested, but i dont want mine anymore.

got brand new tires on it. what it needs:
one side canopy replaced/fixed, 3 cables to the pulley system replaced.

all the gears work and pulleys, but the cables rusted and broke. might take ~$200 to make nice.

it needs to be washed and has a dent in the left front that doesnt effect anything.
has lp hook up to a working stove, has coolers and the frame, floor, and bedding are in great shape.

come get it off my yard for $60 right now. ill even give you the 1 7/8" ball for it

I wouldn't mind a toyhauler/car trailer with a pop-up built-in, if such a thing exists.
