when browsing through a proxy, is there no way to login when that site is normally blocked?

i'm currently using http://www. .com.nyud.net:8090/ and i can browse fine but can't login to anything

all other proxies ive tried are blocked so far

Assuming you're trying to access legal content from the workplace with a block-everything-on-the-internet proxy:

Set up a VPN on your home computer. Tunnel into your home network and use your home computer as a proxy. I did this to access things like AIM and email from work before.
