Cancer has hit my family hard this year. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this past Spring and underwent a double mastectomy. Thankfully, she is cancer free now. Most recently, my 17 year old cousin was diagnosed with AML in January. It breaks my heart to see this happening to such a young, full of life kid. We don't know his outlook yet, as he is still in the early stages of treatment. This past fall I donated 11 inches of hair to Locks of Love. Now, the rest will be going to St. Baldrick's tomorrow.
Anyway, I realize this is late notice. I hadn't planned to advertise this on the board since the only people here I know personally I can just tell in person or via pm. I have decided to now at the last minute to get every little bit I can for this reason: I'm getting close to some of the top participants, and would love to secure a top 5 or even better finish for my cousin! So, if you're a night owl or an early riser and see this any amount of help is GREATLY appreciated! Even just a few dollars helps! With this last push, hopefully I can an least reach my finishing spot goal if not my total money goal. Most importantly, it would be a great moral boost for my cousin and the more money the more help the children get.
If you would like to make a donation, but won't be able to submit anything by the deadline tomorrow it's no problem. I can still submit it as a "cash" donation, then you reimburse me at your convenience. PM me your name, mailing address, and donation amount. Thanks in advance for your help!

Man that is awesome. I was working at the Hibernian in Raleigh a few years back when they hosted St. Baldrick's for the first time. It was a lot of fun and a really great event. I wish I were home now to participate. 3/8/2008 7:22:26 AM |
