I meant to add, are most key places speedy? This is one of those errand things I'd need done pretty quickly. Just trying to figure out how feasible it is.

They pretty much just clip the key to a machine and it's done in 30 seconds.

Yep. And they have keys with N.C. State's logo on them if you want.

aha, no, i'm staying with people in raleigh, and i'm probably only gonna have a 2hr window of available time to get a ride to someplace for keys.

i wasn't sure if it took a while or not. i've had keys made at Ace/True Value, but otherwise, I have no experience with smaller/non-franchise places.
