I leave this broad alone in my car for a few minutes while I run into the bank, and while I'm inside, she rummages around, finds my checkbook and writes herself a a check for $200 and then cashes it at my bank. The bank refunded the money, it's obviously not my writing, and there are several checks I've written to compare it to, I've got her dead to rights. The bank's been cool about returning the money and all that jazz.

I'm definitely pressing charges, anyone have any idea the amount of fees/time she'll get, if any?

i would be extorting more sex,

not really this same exact thing has happened to me before, except i was not fucking her, and did not press charges. I did recover the money by a number of verbal assaults/threats to do so.

i didn't even knock it down, it was just lunch. and yeah, the checkbook in the car thing isn't the best idea, i had just gotten a new box in the mail recently and have neglected to take them inside. i'm definitely gonna throw the bitch under the bus on this one, prosecuting to the full extent of the law, and yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah I mean you are gonna have to go to court and shit and testify if you do that.

It would probably be easier to just never talk to her again and let her lead her miserable existance far away from you.

I'll bet anything it gets dismissed and she just has to pay you back. I was in court for a friends DUI a few months ago and they had a few people there involved in credit card fraud..people whose cards were stolen were there raising absolute hell and the judge just made them refund the money and basically dismissed it after that

she wont even go to jail. 200 bucks? i dated a girl whos brother stole a fuckload of checks and had like 20 felony charges pending, and got off with like 2 years probation. for a couple thousand

she'll get a year probation and have to pay you back over the course of that year

pretty much youre gonna have to decide if thats worth all the time its gonna take. the legal system doesnt do much to people who steal or actually hurt people

extortion is a pretty high level felony, you can do something like 8 years per charge. i'd just let it go

yeah, i'd be satisfied to just to have her arrested spend a few days in county, i know posting bail isn't in the cards for her. i'd definitely drop the charges the moment it looks like it's gonna become a personal inconvenience.

oh you'll get the money back in court..but she won't get any real charges I'd almost guarantee

as far as bail.. if it's that impossible for her to financially post bail-for something this small she'd probably get an unsecured bond or something so low she could pay it..like $100 or something

the bank already reversed the charges, i've gotta run by a branch off and sign a notarized document saying i didn't @ all benefit from the transaction. yeah, it's not even about the money, but definitely a matter of principle here, she needs to share in the headache.

fixed that for ya--although i doubt bond for any felony would be less than a couple thousand dollars

Maybe she is really poor and was very desperate for money for her crack addiction or whatever money-consuming activities she engage in,

I mean if this goes through, it is going to fuck up somebody's life forever.

^i suppose. but if you're stupid enough to write a forged check to yourself, and then cash it @ the issueing bank, and using a third party entity, less likely to have cameras, (wal-mart, any # of grocery stores) you pretty much deserve whatever the hell you get. Ive got every intention to inflict as much personal hardship on this broad as I possibly can.

I would let the bank decide the best course of action if I was you. Since they made good on the money its their loss at this point. I say this not because I feel bad for her so much as that you are gonna realize this was a huge waste of time once she gets off with a slap on the wrist.

I busted some kids busting windows out of some houses of a guy I worked for about six months ago, chased them back to their apt, and waited outside basically handing them over to the cops on a platter. I got a call from the cop a few months later, then I got a call from the DA's office a few months after that. She was asking "did I get my subpoena?".

I had gotten nothing, and had no idea they were going to trial the next day. I could not get off work. Even if I had gotten off I would have had to make the day up to my company so it would have cost me.

I don't know what happened, but can assume not much since I was the only witness.

The justice system sucks sometimes, but as I said earlier, I'll be completely satisfied if she has to miss a few days of work sitting in county, If you're hustling old friends for forged checks, I'm fairly certain missing work for any considerable amount of time will have other repercussions as well.

If she's addicted to crack then that's all the more reason to send her to jail. It might actually be good for her to break the habit and give her a chance for a clean start.

you should charge her. no telling how many people she has ripped off and gotten away with it. she's just going to keep doing it until she gets busted and is given real punishment. she may only get probation, but if she keeps fucking up, she'll end up getting what she deserves.

she won't get probation if she has a clean record

however, if she gets caught again.. she might get closer to a real punishment.

once again, you're about to find out how unfair the legal system can be. in the eyes of the law, what she did was nothing. she likely won't even serve any time pre-trial. probably sign herself out.

hell, i was involved in a case here in greensboro where i witnessed someone make a death threat to someone else. the guy had a record, and had done something similar 3 other times.... he signed himself out of jail.

i mean we're talking about a misdemeanor here, they technically dont even have to make an arrest. they can cite and roll

So the broad contacts me to day attempting to pay the money back, I'm thinking I'm just going to agree to meet her somewhere and have her arrested instead, getting to watch would be a huge bonus.

that would be a total douchebag move.

why would you waste the cops time and tie up the courts with yet another stupid case? she's offering to pay you back.... that's obviously the best solution as far as money is concerned. and there's not gonna be any lesson learned. just taking cops off of real cases...

then if she does have to go to court, you're gonna waste gas... time off work, or at least a burned sick day. all that just to see someone get put on probation?

sounds like there's another part to the story that involves you being rejected

no offense... i just don't get it. it would at least make sense if she weren't gonna pay

I would wait until her wedding day and when the preacher does his little schpiel about does anyone know a good reason why they shouldn't get married.... I'd stand up and say how conniving this bitch is to someone who she claimed was a "friend" and how she should never be trusted. At the very least she'd be humiliated, plus it's 100% legal.

you should totally devote your life to fucking with her. 200 bucks definitely is worth ruining someone's life

dont worry about the fact that she offered to pay back. so while i doubt she feels guilty, she at least realizes that she fucked you over and is trying to make it right.

just take the money and get over it, and learn a lesson about trust!
