Waited on hold forever with DMV...

Car is registered to parents, who live in California. I have the title here in NC. Is it possible for me to sell this car without my parents having to do anything? Thanks TWW.

nope, its gonna be complicated, either the title will have to be notarized in california with the registered owner present, or you will have to have the title transferred to you, then get a nc title, then sell it

If you know someone that is a notary it won't be a problem and you can just sign their names

otherwise it's gonna be a royal PITA

Even if I get a shady notary, don't I still have to go to the DMV?

not if you have the title in hand, everything you need is on the back, you have to get that notarized and a bill of sale
