I thought American Band was a great album. I'm not feeling the new one very much. Probably because I'm a gigantic Cooley fan and he only has like 2 songs on it. Thoughts and Prayers and 21st Century USA are good though.

REK sucks. I'm not enough of a frat boy to get into him.

I don’t hate the new DBT album, but it definitely doesn’t hold a candle to some of their other work.


Worst part is if the album doesn’t do great it’ll be blamed on the record’s mostly political message, but that has nothing to do with what’s wrong with it.

I mean, yeah...there's certainly worse music out there in 2020. I won't be buying the album, though.

The album, from what I've seen, is more relentlessly political than I prefer, to the point that it is a negative to me...but yes, it's mediocre aside from that. The political content is not the reason why.

And REK was the shit for about 15 years when he was really on his game and not doing so much silly, weird shit. His live album at the Ryman Auditorium is killer, too.
