I am currently running IE7 after running FireFox for a couple of months and starting to like it. When I allowed firefox to update itself yesterday and it came back up, it crashes everytime something tries to load... be it something embeded in a webpage, a pdf, or a video... it just crashes... I've seen this happen also in the computer labs...
I'm not very good with windows level software/configuration and stuff... If it doesn't run on install then it's not going to be something I use... So I'm not out to continuously fill out reports on what I was doing when it crashed...
I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue, and if anybody knows a simple and quick fix for it... I miss the auto spell checking
oh yeah: Windows XP sp2 (legit copy) on a p4 2.26/533 1G ram desktop(a little old but perfectly fit for my uses)

maybe something got corrupted in your Profile. Try creating a new profile with the ProfileManager and see how it works. Then if it's fine, you can import some of the settings, like your Bookmarks, from your old profile.
See here how to start the ProfileManager http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles#Starting_the_Profile_Manager
Then if that works you can import your old bookmarks from C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profilename>.default\bookmarkbackups 3/28/2008 12:51:21 PM |

firefox crashed with me every time i tried to navigate away from yahoo mail. i switched to classic mail and it worked. i haven't tried it with FF 3 beta 4, but so far it hasn't crashed, takes up much less memory, and is way faster. even though it's beta i'd suggest giving it a shot. 3/28/2008 1:44:34 PM |

1. Shaggy you're insane. 2. Reinstall Firefox completely, forget the updating. Better yet, get FF3 Beta 4, I've had no problems at all so far. 3/28/2008 2:11:25 PM |
