Anyone on here ever rent from Clark Properties (http://www.relocationhelpdesk.com)? I'm looking at a townhouse rental from them and wanted to know what their property management services were like. The place is <10 yrs old so hopefully there won't be too much needed in the way of maintenance to begin with, but I figured i'd check to see if anyone had an horror stories (like the Preiss co). I couldn't find much on google.

is their application procedure pretty standard? it seems invasive (pay stub, driver's license copy). they also want you to give them a check for the security deposit before your application is approved which seems odd to me.
but i'm somewhat naive to all this, the lady i've rented from for 3 years owned her condo privately and didn't run any credit or background checks. so maybe Clark's app process is normal, i dunno. 4/11/2008 3:52:42 PM |

^ I don't know about that paying deposit before the application thing... especially if there is an application fee involved, too. 4/11/2008 6:56:21 PM |

I noticed today that they're the contact for the new apartments going up across from K-Mart... just as a reference. If they're managing an entire complex and not just multiple single properties I'd imagine they have some sort of decent experience and reputation. 4/12/2008 3:14:41 PM |

I live with DROD900 in a house and like he said, we've had nothing but great things from them. When we have a problem they are always fast at getting someone out there. They are fast responders through email and are always available by phone. They do bi-yearly checkups on their rentals to make sure everything is in working order. Whenever I drop the rent check off they always ask me how i'm doing and they knew me and my fiance by name the second time we went in. Overall we would definitely recommend renting from them! 4/14/2008 7:44:20 PM |

I rented from Clark Properties a couple of years ago. They were managing the rental of a Cameron Village townhouse for a private owner. The property was in great shape and maintained well. We had two pretty major issues one month (refrigerator stopped cooling, then dryer went out). They had repairmen there within a day and replaced the appliances they couldn't fix within 3 days.
Nicole was my contact there. She was always responsive to questions and very professional.
A+++++ WOULD RENT FROM AGAIN!!!!!

my gf and i are about to get a place through them. our experience has been great so far. Giving them the security deposit check with the application isn't a big deal, because they don't deposit it until you've signed the lease.
we've been dealing with Nicole, and I'd agree with ^.
