poor cat. i'd maybe feed and water it a bit. call around and find the cheapest vet where you could get her checked out. the one i used to take my cats to was called Ansede Animal Hospital and is one of the less expensive vets in town.

cats dont like slimy bologna! They might eat small pieces of other lunch meat, or leftover chicken or something. If you have any tuna, the cat would really love it. Every cat I have ever had has enjoyed cheese, too-- but I always gave it to them sparingly (or they would steal it off of my sandwich). It's more important to make sure the cat has water to drink... it will be OK for a little while without food if it has recently gotten away from its owner.

Does the cat have anywhere to go to the bathroom? If not, beware. You don't want the cat to go all over your stuff (they love piles of clothes and/or blankets, especially in corners)-- you'll never get rid of the smell.

Best thing to do is to post "Cat Found" around your area with a contact number. Also contact the your apartment office, the SPCA, and local veterinarians. Take a picture if you can, that will surely help. There is also a website that the SPCA uses for these types of stituations, but I dont remember it off hand. What does the cat look like? heck, post a cat found thread in classifieds. A girl lost her cat off brent rd. and it got returned pretty quickly due to tww.

This
is why
people don't eat the food you bring to the potluck.

^ Have you ever had a cat? many will do random things-- mine happened to like cheese & would steal it from you if you looked away from it. My uncle's cat would scratch it's head on the pencil or pen you were writing with (such a pain). My old roommate's cat would sleep on your face and would not leave you alone if there was any food around.

how does that have anything to do with a potluck? I don't have a cat now, there isn't one at my house, and I haven't been to a potluck in years? Ugh-

DNL- did you find the owner??

In nearly every office there is a "cat person." Most people recommend against eating whatever the cat person brought to the potluck. Sometimes it's because a co-worker saw the cats on the counter while she was cooking and started gossiping. Sometimes it's because someone found a cat hair in the chicken salad. Either way, most people know to avoid the cat person's food at the potluck.

A cat eating off your plate before you are done with it is just gross IMO.
