when i read other boards i have to stop myself before i post opinions that oppose those of others. they're so damn thin-skinned compared to tww it's unbelievable.

for example: somebody made a comment about a guy's girlfriend based on a picture that he posted and all hell broke loose.

i have my gripes about this site.

And there are occasional stupid posts and whatnot that get completely bashed. But the amazing thing is that this is doable. Educated positing is actually the norm somehow. I mean really, stupid for TWW is actually pretty good looking at other places.

I could make a thread about semiconductor manufacturing, quasars, or puppy bladders and I'll be damned if someone doesn't reply who knows the topic damned well.

the grammar over there is absolutely horrendous.

ahaha yea.. I've gotten into trouble on other boards for being a bit of an ass and by ass I mean.. MILD by TWW standards, just normal every day ass like I would be in public in a foul mood. And they get all pissy over it.

I read one where people post the exact same topics multiple times per day and nobody ever says anything to them about it. They just keep acting like it's a brand new topic and posting helpful information. That drives me nuts. I like how TWW hammers people for that.

Hahaha I do that too. Like if someone posts the same news article I'll post something mildly sarcastic like "Hmm if only there were some type of feature that allowed us to search for something before posting it to see if it has already been posted" people get all flustered.

And avatars would not be cool, given how TWW has been a little unstable lately that would probably make pages take 5 mins to load. And there would always be the n00bs who have giant avatars that take up half the screen.

And signatures suck too. I get annoyed on here when people sign their username or something at the end of their posts... as if I can't look a few pixels to the left and see your username.

Perhaps things are a little better here because most of the posters here are students, alumni, or at least sometime-attendees of NCSU? Not saying in this case that NC State is better than other schools, but it's a mostly college-educated audience.
