so I was about to put an offer down on this pretty sick townhouse over the weekend but unfortunately got beat out by about an hour. There aren't any other places for sale on that street, but is there a good way to find out who built a house and if there are any other similar floor plans in the area?

A quick description of the place is its a non-traditional design, technically 4 levels (tho some are only separated by like 5 steps) uhh giant living room with a 12 foot ceiling. pretty damn nice and it was well in my price range.

thx in advance i hope haha

if it was in wake county

go here
http://services.wakegov.com/realestate/

type in what you know, the address...

it brings up the history, and sometimes under owners it says who the first to own was or the builder

try that.

just look for the giant builders logo on the side of the house

oh wait, that's only done with clothing and shoes

you can also backtrack a search through the register of deeds here -> http://web.co.wake.nc.us/rdeeds/

Your Realtor should also be able to tell you, if you're working with one.

PM me all the specifics of the house (street add. subdivision, etc) and I bet I can find out for you.

I'd like to find out who built my house so I can punch that cheap asshole in his elderly (the house is 30 years old) jaw.

The original deed holder and the builder may not be the same. If you pull the building permit for that address, you'll see who the General Contractor is.

similar is a pretty broad term, which may mean that even without really searching hard you find something "similar." if it is identical it would be done by the same developer since they would be able to use one design as a prototype for the next one (cheaper). so maybe try to see if whoever or whatever entity owns THAT townhouse has another one or another development somewhere. which could be done in a few phone calls since they always want to make money.
