So i came home from the gym today only to find that my computer froze up. So i reset it and at first I got some error message on the turn on screen "Secondary IDE Conductor PIn 80 not found" or something (My HD is on the primary IDE btw) then after a few mins it says "boot failure" " insert CDROM" yatta yataa.
I'm like fuck that so i turn it off. I come back in 20 mins turn it on and this time it actually starts to load windows but at some point during loading i get blue screen of death and it resets. I have had this happen one time before and all i had to do was use my windows disk, during the installation screen choose repair, and i ran some command on the command line and everything worked again. This time however i insert my windows desk and after checking "system comfiguration" i get an error message that setuptxt.sif is missing/corrupt and it says push any key to exit.
WTF i'm guessing something is wrong with my boot sector but now my windows desk if giving me bullshit. I haven't loaded the disk from startup in my laptop but when i insert into my laptop computer it works fine it seems. 4/28/2008 11:03:11 PM |

This appears to be an issue when using 'unattended install' disks where you have forgotten to place the file in the \i386\ folder. If not, check that the disk isn't scratched and try cleaning it.
not to be an ass, but I know this due to a search on google. 4/29/2008 8:48:04 AM |
