Just set up a wireless network and works just fine on multiple computers except my laptop.

Every time the laptop goes into standby I loose connection to the internet. I can still see and connect to the network, just can't get to the internet. To get the internet back I either have to restart the laptop or the router.

The desktop (also connected via wireless) does not have this problem.

Anyone have any clue how to fix this other than google or killing myself?

damnation, you already ruled out my two favorite options

aside from those, i have nothing to offer...i've had this problem on a lot of different laptops (though for a few years i had a whole string of toshibas, and this happened a lot)...check the power save settings for the wireless card (make sure it's not set to be able to be turned off to save power)
