OK. I have Windows XP Professional. Since I've had the computer, I've had just one main user account, just labeled "administrator." So today, I set up an account for my wife on it - thinking I was just adding her as an extra account. Upon restarting, her new (and blank) account is the only one I can choose. I desperately need to get my original profile/account back to where I can select it. Is there any way to accomplish this?
Please Help! Thanks. 5/8/2008 12:39:04 PM |

hit ctrl-alt-delete twice to escape the welcome screen
then i think you can go into control panel, users, and choose not to hide the administrator account from the welcome screen] 5/8/2008 12:42:56 PM |

i don't remember seeing it in the control panel users section but worst case scenario, you can disable the welcome screen so you have a box where you can type in the username and in there you can type out administrator
and synapse, this ctrl-alt-del thing - does it work on all machines? how do you disable it? 5/8/2008 12:47:30 PM |

OK, phew! Turning off the welcome screen and just typing in "administrator" did the trick. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH.
For the record, the ctl-alt-delete twice did nothing. I mean no effect at all. Maybe I missed something, but hey... I appreciate your input.
